Peach Iced Tea
SIMPLE SYRUP
0.8 cup organic cane sugar
0.8 cup water
2 ripe peaches (cut thin) (Grab another 2 peaches for later)
TEA
1.6-2.4 Tbsp loose leaf black tea (4 bags)
6.4 cups filtered water
Instructions
Bring sugar, water, and peaches to a boil in a small saucepan. Then lower heat and use a wooden spoon to stir and crush the peaches to infuse the flavor.
Once the sugar is dissolved, cover, remove from heat and let steep for 25-30 minutes.
In the meantime, brew your tea using either a large pot or a tea maker. Don't steep tea over 4 minutes or it can be bitter. Don't overfill the tea pitcher, remember to leave room for the simple syrup.
Once brewed, remove tea bags or strain out loose leaf tea and transfer to a pitcher. Refrigerate to cool.
Once your simple syrup is finished, strain over the pitcher of tea, we don't want a chucky texture tea we just want the sweetness from the peaches and sugar.
Cut those other 2 peaches into slices or wedges, remove the skin and pits, and put them in the tea pitcher for look and more flavor.
Yes its sugary but 1 cup on a hot summer day is heavenly.
